About the Author
Joel Christiansen has his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska, and his MEd and EdS degrees with an emphasis in educational administration from the University of Nebraska. He is a college professor in human relations and business management at Doane College in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was selected as Professor of the Year in 2002. Joel is President of Joel Christiansen Speaking Services, a business that specializes in empowering people to succeed and prosper. His past professional experiences have included serving various public schools as a principal, superintendent, and coordinator of a drug and alcohol intervention program. He served as a member of the Life Skills Board for the University of Nebraska Athletic Department, served on the State of Nebraska's Alcoholism and Drugs Board, and the Valley Hope Out-Patient Treatment Center Board. He has been listed in the Who's Who of American Education and was honored as a Most Notable Young American. Joel has been straight and sober since September 14, 1981.
