About the Book

Life isn’t easy when you’re only a few inches tall—but Johnny Ancient, he has bigger problems than his height. After his parents mysteriously disappear, leaving Johnny to live with his one-hundred-year-old grandmother, he hears his mother’s voice on the breeze and is determined to find his parents and bring them home. But when a sudden gust of wind lifts Johnny and his butterfly friend, Zoe, off the ground and deep into the forest, he wonders if his grandmother was right about him being too little to find his family again. As Johnny and Zoe look for a way home, they meet a moth named Mr. Freebee and some fireflies who save them from a crow hoping to make the travelers its dinner. Mr. Freebee tells them that he’s seen Johnny’s parents recently and guides them to a dragonfly named Sierra of the Pool who can help Johnny on the next part of his journey. With Sierra’s help, Johnny and Zoe embark on a dangerous journey through the forest that’s filled with strange plants and creatures. Just when they think that all hope is lost and that they’ll be stuck forever, the trio makes a discovery that changes everything.
