Captain E.S. Geary is a Chartered Surveyor in Admiralty & Maritime and a Senior Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in London. He provides professional, technical and forensic engineering services to a wide range of international clients with maritime interests. Holding advanced credentials and qualifications in the nautical field he frequently testifies as an expert witness, conducts investigations of suspicious losses and renders opinions on the accurate values of yachts and ships throughout the world. A U.S. citizen now living in Europe, his interest in writing came about as a result of his personal involvement with the many fascinating cases he has dealt with during his always exciting, but sometimes dangerous career. Before opting for early retirement he served 16 years as a senior officer expanding the interests and influence of the U.S. Coast Guard throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Recognizing his accomplishments, Geary was requested to train and expand the Para-military naval components of a friendly South American country who was also an ally of the United States. The success of his efforts, soon acknowledged by the country’s Minister of Defense and the Commander of the Navy leads to his commission with the rank of Captain in the Venezuelan Naval Forces. With the CIA’s goal of a regime-change and Geary’s insertion as a senior officer in the country’s military establishment The Company believes he would be well placed to act as a NOC, a spy with No Official Cover. His mission was to covertly provide military intelligence gathered through his unique personal friendships with the general officers of the country’s Navy, Army, National Guard and Air Force. In possession of confidential, compromising and potentially damaging personal and private information they believe that the commanders of the country’s military forces could be neutralized if they were to oppose or resist a regime-change that would be brought about through an orchestrated coup d'état planned and paid for by the CIA. The regime change was to install Hugo Chàvez as president. In reward for his spying efforts the CIA offers Geary promotion to Admiral and generous payments from a slush-fund covertly paid through a numbered bank account in an off-shore jurisdiction. After refusing to become a spy the Agency embarks on a program of assassination to kill him. A Deep Throat emerges from the shadows of Washington who provides information that leads to exposure of the CIA’s nefarious activities which is subsequently documented through a CNN television report. In spite of a gag-order by the U.S. Attorney to shield the Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard from exposure Geary prevails in his lawsuit against the Government which allows the story of the CIA’s Venezuelan Conspiracy involving Money, Drugs and Oil to be told. The Reverend of Caracas is a fictionalized version of the saga.
