About the Book
Courtney Sayers, a woman in her late fifties, needs an escape from her high-pressure job as an anesthesiologist. In an effort to clear her head, she decides to entertain her hobby of photography in the beautiful mountains of Zion National Park. As night falls during her drive through the desert of southwestern Utah, Courtney’s car hits something. Slamming on her breaks, she realizes she has hit what looks like a human being. As she stands over the injured, attractive man, he requests that she take him back to his “station.” Courtney wouldn’t have entertained his strange mutterings, but suddenly she is overcome by a desire to help him meet his aim. In transporting the man to his destination, Courtney’s life is transformed forever when she finds out this man is not a human but actually a Karadan—part of a humanoid race that protects the Earth from alien invaders. Courtney’s companion plunges her into an education in aliens and space travel. Along with her new friend, she travels the world and finds herself battling the nightmarish Flawtl, alien invaders who arrive on Earth to rob the planet of its mineral wealth. She must assist the Karadan in their mission to protect the planet, while a certain injured Karadan captain may assist Courtney in finding love.
