The United Nations’ representatives left, to go back to their homes and families. They knew that Kenyans were serious about trying to solve their own problems and trusted that they would do it right. The rest of the world celebrated the successful resuscitation of Kenya. To date, the country has made a very good recovery and is still growing strong. Kenyan children would like to see the adults making effort to live and work together and solve their problems peacefully. They ask that the ingredients that help maintain a strong, stable and peaceful Kenya be protected and used properly to avoid the kind of problem that the country was forced to deal with in December 2007 polls. May there be many more happy new years to Kenyan children everywhere.

About the Book
Resuscitating Kenya is a narration of the events following the disputed general election of December 2007 in Kenya, from a child’s perspective. Using the analogy and terminology of a health-care system, the author explains the events that degenerated into chaos and violence, claiming the lives of many and displacing others from their homes. It was a response to the depressing images and information that populated both local and international media during the two months of emotional distress in Kenya.
About the Author
Florence Akumu Juma is a Ministry Associate based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She has worked with children of diverse age groups and backgrounds since the age of sixteen both as a teacher and a minister. Florence moved to Canada in 1998 with her family and continued sharing her resources in ministry. Florence is married to Francis Juma Ogeke; they have five daughters, Flavia, Fanis, Foyo, Faith, and Flora; two sons-in-law, Raymond Sargeant and Justin Radstake; and five grandchildren, Quinton, Quiana, Keniah and Xavier Sargeant, and Izaka Radstake.
