"I chose to publish with Trafford because they are the pioneers in on-demand publishing. They really know their stuff. I have not been at all disappointed after publishing two books with Trafford. Two things stand out as far as working with them. The first is the way a writer is given individualized service from start to finish. At no point in the publishing process was I left dangling without someone to hold my hand and guide me through the process. I have a journalism degree, but the publishing end of book writing is daunting to say the least. I felt safe in the hands of experts who guided me through the process.
The second is the fact that even after the books are in print, or “live” as they call it, I’m not left with boxes of books to try to market on my own. Trafford knows that end too and can help me get the book known and seen to large numbers of influential people.
I had the ideas for the book cover designs, but I am a word artist, not a visual artist. Trafford’s design team did an outstanding job on both covers and I receive comments continually on the designs. When I tell people I’ve written two books the most frequent questions I’m asked are, “Who designed the covers?” and “Who published your books?” Publishers matter. People pay attention to publishers more than I ever realized.
I speak to a number of authors and always recommend Trafford to them. I am impressed with Trafford and highly recommend it to other writers. Trafford’s process is also speedy. My second book went from a Word document to a book in print in three weeks! If I’d used the traditional publishing method it would have probably taken a year. There will always be naysayers who find fault with any enterprise, but I would ask future authors to consider available options and define their objectives.
