EACH DAY
I start each and every day
In a positive and joyful way.
Every morning as I throw back the sheet,
This day I’m exuberant to greet!
And then when my feet hit the floor,
Internally I shout, “Life, it’s you I adore!”
So I start each and every day,
In a positive and joyful way!
I welcome the sun, the snow and the breeze,
Inside I’m warm and I never will freeze.
I think thoughts that lead me to achieve,
For in myself I’ve learned to believe.
Here’s the second sample which is from Chapter Two.
DREAM
We all should take time to dream,
That adds to life a burst of cream.
Each day take time to put your head in a cloud,
Your dreams will make you happy and proud.
Kids are not taught to dream away,
Yet this should be part of their every day.
Adults get busy to extreme,
They don’t realize that it’s important to dream!
Dreaming is crucial to young and old,
Take time to dream and keep them bold.
They’ll fill your life with enriching leaven,
They’ll bring you a little closer to heaven.
So whether you’re young, or whether you’re old,
Take time to dream and let life unfold.
Set time aside to dream and rest,
Dreams will fill your life with zest!
The next poem comes from Chapter Three.
WHY I LIKE POETRY
I like to read poetry,
It does something special for me,
In just a few words one can state
Thoughts that are funny, thoughts that are great!
Poetry can state thoughts that are profound,
Amusing thoughts also can be found.
There’s a feel of joy, a moment of bliss,
A poem is akin to a caring kiss!
Poetry is similar to a song,
You can say so much without being long.
A boost to the spirit, a shot in the arm,
Poetry is loaded with abundant charm.
In just a few words you can say so much,
Through a poem a life you may touch.
A person can feel down in the dumps,
Reading the right poem may bring back
Joy, even goose bumps!
For me poetry is really a balm,
It’s very much like a beautiful psalm.
I love my poetry collection,
There’s value in each and every selection.
Each day I read a poem aloud,
It boosts my spirit; it makes me proud.
Music and poetry is good for the heart,
It’s a terrific way for a day to start!
The fourth poem is from Chapter Four- Take A Walk and
Try Self-talk. It’s at the top of the self-talk mountain.
I AM
Just as Levels One and Two go together,
They’ll both hold you back in any weather.
Levels Three and Four make a wonderful pair,
Into your life they’ll bring fresh air!
In Level Four, of your life you are in charge.
You take control, you are the Sarge.
Or should I say you are the captain of your ship-
Your life becomes a glorious trip!
Your programming is all achievement bound,
Not a negative word can be found.
Tell yourself that you are able,
And, my friend, that is no fable!
I am a wonderful guy,
And that’s the truth, not a lie.
I am truly a fabulous female,
My Self-talk keeps me on the positive trail!
Watch your Self-talk night and day,
Monitor it as you work and as you play.
Do positive programming without regard,
It is easy; it’s not hard.
Fill your mind with positive belief,
Do not allow any negative relief!
Say to yourself words that lead to success,
With negative self-talk, do not mess!
I AM good at running track,
Speed and endurance I do not lack.
I CAN read and understand,
In school I’m really grand!
Use Self-talk to move you along,
Go through life singing a confident song.
Level Four of Self-talk is your version,
It will make your life a great excursion!
Learn to say to yourself, “I WILL! I CAN!”
And when should this Self-talk for you “began”?
This very minute is the time to choose-
Why not? What in the world do you have to lose?
Lastly, you might find it insightful to read my autobiographical poem which is on the back cover of DIE DAILY. Then, hopefully, you may want to meet me in my book!
SNEAK A PEEK
I popped into the world in 1933,
Born in the back of our drugstore-just believe me.
Since then and right up to now, part of my life’s scheme
Is that I enjoy and relish eating ice cream!
At age five, my family I left.
My heart, my heart, it became bereft.
Back in those days if you could not see,
You left home and to school you had to flee!
While in school I participated in many-a-sport,
Baseball, basketball, football, and more, I’m happy to report.
At Michigan State I wrestled; I was not great.
One hundred fifty seven was my wrestling weight.
Thanks to my good friends Ralph and Del,
I had a teaching career that was oh, so swell.
Forty eight years was my career’s duration,
Every day was a wonderful sensation!
It was at Michigan State I me my wife Laur,
During college, a degree, a wife- who could ask for more!
My wife Laura I simply adore.
Living with her my life could not be a bore!
Marla and Amy are our daughters supreme,
For both Laura and I, they fulfilled our dream.
They’ve added to our life a special note,
Marla and Amy, you get our vote!
When you read this book, please don’t hesitate,
A message from you would be so great!
I promise I will reply within a week.
Thanks for taking this little peek!
