Example of New Friendship Bible Translated Psalms 119:89-112…
89 Your fleshed out friendship with us, O LORD, is eternal; our friendship with You stands firm in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness to our friendship with You continues through all generations; You established our friendship with You, and it endures. 91 Your commitment to pursuing a perfect love friendship with us endures to this day, out of our love for You we serve You with everything we have. 92 If you had not been our friendship’s delight, we would have perished in our self-centerism. 93 we will never forget the price You paid to have Your friendship with us, for by it You have preserved the life of our friendship with You. 94 Set us free from our self-centerness so that we can be Yours only; we love pursuing with You Your commitment to a perfect love friendship with us. 95 The Spirit of Self-Centerism is waiting to destroy our perfect love friendship with You, but we will ponder how faithful You have been to our friendship since the beginning. 96 To all perfection we see its individual beauty; but Your unconditional love for us is infinity boundless in all of Your infinite dimensions. 97 Oh how we love Your love for us; we meditate on Your love for our friendship with You all day long. 98 Your pursuit for a perfect love friendship with us makes us wiser than our selfish selves, for Your friendship is ever with us. 99 We have more insight on God’s friendship with us than all the selfish teachers who don’t have, for we constantly thinking about our personal friendship with You. 100 We have more understanding of Your personal friendship with us than the selfish elders don’t have, for we are set free to pursue Your perfect love for us. 101 We have kept our feet from every selfish path so that we will be able to pursue Your perfect love for us with You. 102 Out of Your love for our friendship with You we have no desire to depart from Your perfect love for us, for You Yourself have taught us how to love. 103 how sweet are Your words when applied to our friendship with You, they are sweeter than honey to our mouths! 104 We gain infinite understanding from Your friendship with us; therefore we resist every self-centered path. 105 Your Word is a lamp to our friendship with You and a light for our path to our friendship with You. 106 We by Your faith within us decided to pursue Your friendship and confirmed it, that we will pursue Your perfect love for us with You. 107 I have suffered much from our self-centeredness; set our lives free eternally from The Spirit of Self-Centerism, O LORD, according to Your Word. 1087 Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of our friendship with You, and teach us Your perfect love for us. 109 Though we constantly waste our lives when being selfish, we will press on in pursuing Your perfect love for us. 110 The Spirit of Self-Centerism has set a snare for our perfect love friendship for each other, but we will not stray from our perfect love for each other. 111 Your pursuit of a perfect love friendship with us will be our heritage forever; it is the joy of our hearts. 112 Our hearts are set on keeping Your friendship with us to the very end…
This meditational version of the New Friendship Bible is not another personal devotion on; the different events and roles of Christ, the environment of the time in which He lived in, the meanings of special key words, nor on the purifying one’s self. These types of personal devotions have dulled my senses over the years. And now I have found myself hungry for an ongoing enriching experience with God, that will last me for the rest of my life. This book is the results of my endeavor to slow down, absorb what I was reading and then allowing God to manifest His deeper friendship experience in my life.
Meditations Reference Example: His Earthly Birth;
Imagine God working through the opening of my life’s passion’s eyes, to see it being surrounded by a great company of heavenly host, constantly proclaiming peace and favor over my life’s passion.
I would personalize this by switching out “life’s passion” with my personal passion, which in this case is book writing. I would apply this like so. Imagine God working through the opening of my book writing’s eyes to see my book writing being surrounded by a great company of heavenly host constantly proclaiming peace and favor over my book writing.
This is the framework for me meditating on seeing multitudes of heavenly host proclaiming peace and favor over my book writing.
Meditations Reference Example: His Worthy;
Imagine God working through my life’s passion being so good, that it earns the right to open up new opportunities with unlimited growth.
Again, I would personalize this by switching out “life’s passion” with my personal passion, which is book writing. I would apply this one like so. Imagine God working through my book writing so good, that my book writing earns the right to open up new opportunities with unlimited growth.
With both these examples, it’s not a matter of debating with ourselves if this is wrong or right. It’s about training our minds and hearts to meditate on good things. It’s about visualizing good things associated with our passions. It’s about visualizing God creating these goods things through our passions. The more we physically visualize these meditative thoughts the more enriching our friendship with God becomes.
Remember above all, it’s not the number of pages I read or the things I accomplish; it’s being at peace and applying what I know that makes all the difference.
My prayer is that your passion will be quickly discovered – if not already and that God will continue to strengthen and grow it throughout the rest of your abundant spiritual physical life.
The Meditations format can be embraced either as a personal study and or in a group setting.
