About the Book
Hurricane Katrina. A fatal car crash. Wildfires. Deadly virus. Outsourced. International train bombings. Robbery. Identity theft. Every individual, along with his or her family, is subject to year-round conditions that at any time can pose a threat to life, property, and economic stability. In our increasingly fast-paced, frantic world, it is more important than ever to be ready for any type of emergency or catastrophic event, whether it’s the result of a natural or man-made disaster. Preparation is key. YOUR LIFE, Interrupted is a blueprint for creating a customized emergency plan. But, it does two things other emergency planning books do not: first, it assumes you not only want to survive but you want to recover. Secondly, it does not focus on every possible disaster that might happen. Instead it concentrates on the one common element shared by all disasters – loss. No matter what created the event or how severe it might be, you will have an action plan to expedite and facilitate the recovery based on what you lost. YOUR LIFE, Interrupted comes with a list of 46 everyday events (beyond natural disasters and terrorism) to understand your risks, 14 action plans (each based on a specific loss), a wallet and wall communications plan, test scenarios to make sure your plan works before you need it, a 12-month maintenance calendar, time-saving and budget-wise alternatives for each task, and detail on what to consider to make your plan customized and comprehensive for you and your family.
