About the Book
One warm spring day in April 1963, Joan Andrews Barron’s future was changed forever by an unforeseen tragedy that also affected her family and friends. The tragic event that rocked Martinsburg, Connecticut left townspeople heartsick and appalled. It caused the people of Martinsburg to be so despondent that some still do not discuss Joan or the tragedy today. What happened to Joan? Would anyone ever really know what took place that fateful day? Two people knew but remained silent. Wealth, power, sexual desire and secrecy lie at the heart of Joan’s family by marriage. Someone would risk everything to get what he or she wanted. In spite of a conclusion purported by her husband and his family, over the ensuing years, there was speculation as to what had occurred and who was involved. Unfortunately, there would be no justice for Joan, only a short-lived marriage to her handsome, dark-haired high school sweetheart who vowed to be with her ‘til death do us part.
