At first glance, this book is a lovely collection of animal short stories following the adventures of various animal friends as you progress through the alphabet. But it is much more than a simple book of short stories. The Great Alphabet Reminder Book is designed to assist young students in relearning and remembering the significance of the alphabet. The focus is on repetition and association of the letters in the alphabet with particular words and sounds. Many new vocabulary words will provide the young reader with the basis for remembering the alphabet letter in question. Vocabulary that may be unfamiliar to the young reader has been underlined. About the Author

Ernest Boehnert is a retired Saskatchewan. teacher. His teaching experiences have included students from the primary grade level to senior high school. For many years he taught English with all its components of grammar punctuation, writing and reading. He is aware basic English skills are necessary for students to progress in later years. For this reason, Ernest developed a phonetic approach for learning with The Great Alphabet Reminder Book so as to help primary students become phonetically competent. It is significant that recent trends in education are stressing a need to return to phonics as a key to learning.
