About the Book

Why Buy the Cow is a book about practicing celibacy or sexual abstinence. We have all heard the cliche "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". This book is an inspirational and motivational look at celibacy from different perspectives. It is designed for people contemplating or have decided to practice sexual abstinence. It is biblically based and shows references to various verses in the bible. It is divided into 3 parts, Statements, Questions and Answers.

It is written from the author's personal life experiences. It is both humorous and thought provoking. You will laugh at some points, cry at some, and even disagree at others. It gives examples and points of views from people she has interviewed on the subject.

This book was written as an answer to today's problems associated with teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and even depression from broken or failed relationships. By practicing celibacy and sexual abstinence, she believes that many problems can be solved among the teens and unmarried population of the world. This book is a definite must read for the Single Christian and secular community.

About the Author

Ella was born in Jackson, Mississippi and now resides in Dallas, TX. She has been employed as a nurse for the past 22 years. She hopes to one day become a full time writer. She is a divorced mother of two children and one grandchild. Why buy the Cow is her premier project.

Ella has been an avid reader all of her life. At a very young age, she was considered a bookworm by her 8 brothers and sisters. She would sit in the house and read books, because she suffered from a severe form of anemia, while her siblings would be outside playing. She received straight A's in school in English and wanted to become either a teacher or a nurse, the latter of which she has achieved. She also studied psychology and sociology in college at The University of Southern Mississippi and Southern University, Baton Rouge, La. where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She believes her God given talent is writing and counseling. She loves to go to the movies and estimates she has seen over 500 movies and read over 700 books.
