About the Book
A delightful yet elementary science level educational story about an adventurous white duck. Based on true events! Although the white rafting duck does not actually go white water rafting, his adventures of seeking a mate lead him to an awesome journey down a fast rapid white water brook past Miss Carol's flower shop and his return with his mate months later.
This book talks about the white rafting duck as Miss Carol sees him and explains his friends, the magnificent mallards. The difference between colors of the female and male mallards. The emotional feelings of the little white duck that children can relate to.
About the Author
Carol Lynn Bronte is related to the Bronte authors. The Bronte authors are first cousins to John Bronte who came to America, Mississippi to be exact. Miss Carol is a single mother who has raised 3 sons and now has 5 grandchildren. She has a flower shop on the lower level of her home. The brook runs along side her house. This is where The White Rafting Duck was born.
"I hope this story depicts the delight that I felt when I saw the duck zooming down the brook in March and his delightful return with his mate in May. Some people have said after reading my story that ducks can fly. That is correct, but these ducks did not fly. They preferred to challenge the waters.
