About the Book
In Walks With Maggie, the author offers philosophical anecdotes on some of the lessons life offers to us through simple activities like walking the dog. The book is a collection of thirty short essays and features a West Highland white terrier called Maggie. Set in Northern Michigan's popular Leelanau County, the reader becomes acquainted with the author's pets and the unique, attractive features of the area.
The description of each walk offers a thoughtful personal reflection as well as vivid images. These descriptions give insights into everyday lessons from life as well as living in this popular summer vacation area during all seasons of the year. The book is made even more appealing by photographs of the characters, locale and the authors own pen ink and watercolor illustrations.
