About the Book
Damion Hyde, a self-made lawyer, sets out to seduce financier executive Monet Robinson in order to prevent her from breaking up his cousin Melodie's marriage. Damion witnesses what he believes is a lovers' tryst between Monet and Hugh Spacey, her former love and Melodie's new husband. Planning to divide and conquer, Damion finds every excuse to ingratiate himself into Monet's life.
He does not count on the passion and attraction that ignites between them. Now, he must reconcile the home-wrecker image he once had of Monet with the fun-loving, independent, vibrant woman he has come to love. An array of circumstances, which include Hugh's declaration that he is still in love with Monet, as well as an emotionally unstable Melodie seem to come between Damion and Monet whenever they are together. Will Monet's love for him be threatened when she realizes why Damion approached her in the first place?
About the Author
As a longtime reader of romance novels, and a critic of contemporary multicultural romance novels for the Romantic Times Magazine, Shamaine thought it might be time to venture into the role of a writer. After extensive research she realized that it is extremely hard to make the transition from avid reader to published author. However, she hopes that This Burning Desire will be her first step in the right direction.
Raised in New York by way of Jamaica in the West Indies, Shamaine has learned to tell a story with flair and creativity. There is nothing like the flavor of the Caribbean Islands when it is mixed with a dash of New York chutzpah. She uses her heritage, experience and imagination to create some very interesting characters that she hopes will capture the interests of readers from all walks of life. She is currently employed at a major Park Avenue law firm and is working on completing her next novel, Wylde Honey.
