A Penny In My Pocket describes a special relationship between a girl and her grandfather. Grandpa gives her a special penny to carry with her always. It is a little secret between them. He says it's "for love, not luck". The girl carries the penny with her and remembers Grandpa's love to help her through some tough times. When Grandpa passes away, the girl finds that she wasn't the only one that Grandpa was there for.

About the Author

Marti Lynn Derringer was born and raised in Wyoming where she was very close to her grandparents. Her grandfather used to give her buffalo nickels to keep in her pocket. He always made her feel loved and special. Marti still resides and teaches kindergarten in Wyoming where she enjoys spending time with her husband, Erik and daughter, Bethany.
