About the Book

Being a Cosmetology teacher for over 25 years, Linda Ingram has written this book for teachers and educators who need every resource available when they are preparing to teach in today's classrooms. Subject knowledge is readily available to teachers but the techniques to help them deal with the student problems, school policies and procedures are many times not provided.

The fundamental principles used in this book will give positive results in any educational program. It provides a source for new as well as seasoned teachers on preparing to teach all types of students. Through short stories resources are given into the insight of situations that may occur in the classroom. The reader is challenged to think about how they would resolve many of the issues facing today's teachers.

About the Author

Linda Ingram graduated from Staunton School of Cosmetology in 1979. After graduation she was employed as a hairstylist at Boyd's Hair Dressers. She worked as a stylist and later trained and passed the teacher training program as an instructor at the Staunton School of Cosmetology. After serving as an instructor for 12 years she was promoted to the postions of Director of Education for the school.

Mrs. Ingram trains new instructors, keeps the curriculum updated and works with the students on attendance, school policies and directs the operation of the clinic.

In 1995 she was elected Vice-President of the Staunton School of Cosmetology, Incorporated and also serves on the Board of Directors. Mrs. Ingram helps in the management of the company's salons including total client satisfaction. She also directs and provides the stylists with their continuing education.

Working closely with Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, she was able to benefit from their knowledge as cosmetology professionals. She has studied Milady, Pivot Point and Rufus Hayes Curriculum that have been used in the school. Having received advanced trained in Matrix, Paul Mitchell, and Redken techniques and products she also participates in continuing education with the National Cosmetology Accrediting Commission.
