Education: Mr. Pitcher graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
Insurance Background: Mr. Pitcher obtained his Series 6 license and Life, Health and Variable Annuity license in 1993. He has worked as an account executive with Riscorp Health Plans, United Healthcare and AvMed Health Plans. During that time he enrolled over 3500 subscribers and over $10 million in annualized premium. He has been the sales manager of Insurance and Benefits Consultants, a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida general agency and agency development manager with MGA Financial Services.
Insurance Industry Involvement: Mr. Pitcher is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and a member of the Association of Health Insurance Advisors (AHIA). He is the current State AHIA Chair Person for the Florida Association of Health Insurance Advisors. He is the past president and served four terms as legislative chairperson for his local chapter of health underwriters. Mr. Pitcher has lobbied in Tallahassee and in Washington, DC on behalf of consumers, insurance brokers and business owners. He has been featured as a speaker for a local cable channel and is a frequent speaker on group and individual medical insurance. In August 2004, Mr. Pitcher was appointed by Governor Bush to the Board of Directors of the Florida Health Insurance Plan.
