About the Book
This novel is about a woman who sets out, with premeditation, to fall in love with the man of her dreams, or more importantly, to set a trap, causing him to fall in love with her. In a way, doing this goes against the laws of nature, of mankind. Love is an emotion, and one can neither plan nor consciously cause it to happen. But Maggie tries. When she sees Jim, a handsome, young soldier who has just returned from World War II, she begins to stalk her prey. Jim’s long-time relationship with Angela is nothing more than a temporary roadblock to her. Maggie had grown up in a small, forgotten town, dirt poor, and had to scrape for everything she had. She had been raped, suffered a severe mental breakdown, had even been married to a man she did not love. She was almost glad when Robert died in the war. It was so unfair; she deserved to be happy, any way she could, no matter who was hurt in the process, even her young son. How could she know she would truly fall in love with Jim? Because of Maggie’s deceitful determination, terrible things are set into motion, hearts are broken, and families are torn apart by the anguish of suicide. Sometimes getting what we want is not the best thing. Do Maggie and Jim end up together? How will it end?
About the Author
Paulette S. Quinn lives in Texas with her dogs, Nickie and Brodie. She was born in southern Indiana, but has lived most of her life in Texas. She has been a model, a legal secretary and a paralegal, but writing is her passion. She has previously been published under the name Paulette Q. Yuill, but after her father’s death, she returned to her maiden name of Quinn. Some of the events in Premeditated Love were taken from the story of her parents’ lives together. Her mother was, at one time, an elevator operator in a large department store. Her father and mother did meet at that store when he returned from World War II to continue his career as a furrier and designer. The similarities end there. Paulette’s first book, published in 2004, was “My Hypnotist – The Big Roulette Wheel of Internet Dating – A Story of Spousal Abuse.” This book was somewhat autobiographical, in that she did meet a hypnotist on the internet, married him, was abused by him, and divorced him. Most of the events in this book are based on this relationship.
She will continue writing, as she has many ideas for future books. Paulette has a son and a daughter, and one grandson.
