About the Author

Dr. Larry Linden has over twenty years of independent and corporate experience in international career management counseling, training program development, and implementation.

He has worked with leading out-placement organizations, and is a Master Trainer of Career Consultants. Dr. Linden also conducts train-the-trainer seminars for Senior Career Consultant professionals. He has consulted to individual career changers across the United States and in 16 foreign countries including those from Africa, Europe, and the Pacific Rim.

Dr. Linden has designed specialized tools and documentation for a fast-paced technology-oriented world, reaching and servicing individuals in remote areas of the world. In addition, he has designed classes and workshops with emphasis on personal development through self-assessment, career management, and formal education; he has consulted to R. L. Stevens, the largest privately-owned career placement company in the world.

In addition to publishing articles on career portfolios and effective résumé design, Dr. Linden has conducted workshops and courses on portfolio development, career transition, résumé writing, tough interviewing, networking, job search strategies, self-marketing for success, and critical thinking.

Dr. Linden received his Masters Degree in Education from Cambridge College in Massachusetts where he focused his attention on training and development and organizational psychology. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from The Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1997. The focus of his dissertation was on the evaluation of a career portfolio as a transition and career management tool, affording him a unique perspective on career transition and transitional tools.
