About the Book

About the Book

The turn of the millennium is a time of powerful changes. The global pursuit of profits and alarming environmental degradation go hand in hand with increased global awareness, new spiritual experiences, and tools of experiential spirituality.

The first part of the book gathers evidence from the ground of the growing number of spiritual experiences now open to humanity. From abundant facts it builds up to a phenomenological apprehension of the spiritual reality of the millennium, which is also the fulcrum for cultural renewal from which flows lasting social change.

Revolution of Hope asserts that social change will accrue from more and more individuals and groups undergoing a spiritual reassessment of values. This can be grounded in an understanding of the present time that encompasses spiritual reality. It can be sustained with tools for spiritual awareness fashioned in the 20th century. Discover the surprising links between this experiential spirituality, the new spiritual experiences available to humanity and the "spiritual foundation" of our times.

Revolution of Hope invites the reader to embrace a larger vista on the landscape of cultural renewal in our time, and derive strength from it. Culturally based initiatives are already impacting social change away from the limelight, and we can add strength to them through our awareness and informed participation. Discover how a fuller perception of reality, tools for personal transformation, and culturally based engagement are the stuff of miracles in the creation of a counterweight to present day globalization.

About the Author

About the Author

Luigi Morelli has come to writing from the experience of social commitment through his work, and from a lively interest in the history, myths and legends of the American continent. For nine years he has operated a business co-op promoting ecological practices in landscape contracting, which continues in existence at present in Santa Cruz, CA. He has fourteen years of experience in working with developmentally disabled adults â*“ half of it in alternative, holistic settings â*“ and was a founding member of the Wavecrest community for the disabled (part of the international federation of L'Arche communities), in Orange County, CA, in 2004.

Luigi articulates a clear, cultural-spiritual vision of social change that encompasses political activism, and gives it a new meaning. For this reason he has trained extensively in Nonviolent Communication and NVC mediation, in which he offers trainings. He has also researched and studied other approaches to experiential spirituality, particularly Destiny Learning of Coen van Houten.

His writings incorporate the themes of spirituality and social change, part of which is inspired from the history, myths and legends of the American continent. Myths and legends offer us an understanding of the soul of social change, of its spiritual foundations. In addition, they complement a scientific approach to history. The images of myths allow us to better understand the deeper undercurrents of history and the spiritual influences at play in past and present.
