About the Book

Archdeacon 'Cec' Plowright is a retired 're-tread,' as he calls himself, rector of St Mary's in the little town of Ipswich, Saskatchewan. After he is twitted by townspeople about 'too many funerals,' Constable Gordon MacArthur, RCMP, makes a surprising confession, which leads the two of them to find out just why all these deaths have occurred in a short time. They have the help of Cec's wife Janet and his adoring fan, Miss Carberry the librarian. Before the surprising conclusion the reader meets Pete Thackeray, troubled, headstrong rancher....Daniel Buffalohunter, the randy "altar boy"...Ma Davidson, owner of the Royal Cinema, who has her own secret...and a host of other characters and twists and turns of plot in this warm and witty portrayal of life in rural Saskatchewan.

About the Author

M. Scott Robertson is a pseudonym. The author has written for newspapers and radio, a musical, The Medicine Man, produced officially for Saskatchewan's 75th anniversary. 'Cec' Plowright has been featured in 7 privately published mysteries, and the author has 8 other novels in print and 6 non-fiction works, and has written the libretto for a new opera, The Plains of Abraham. This is in addition to a long and busy professional life in another field. He has lived in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Devon (U.K.) and California. He is married, a grandfather, and lives in Victoria, B.C.
