Dr. Ihde is a general surgeon in Lancaster, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. He obtained a BS of Chemistry at Creighton University in 1988. He then attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. He performed his postgraduate surgical training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, under the tutelage of Dr. George Farha. During his surgical training he developed an interest in critical care and nutrition. Additionally, he concentrated on the developing practice of advanced laparoscopic techniques. After participating in a program of open Roux en Y gastric bypass, he developed the laparoscopic program at the hospital in Lancaster, Texas.
