About the Book
The poems you are about to read were selected for this small publishing effort because the subject matter has been discussed by men down through the ages, and will continue to be talked about and written about as long as the human race endures.
They reflect the attitudes of men and Mankind. They tell of Man's hopes and fears, of his dreams and desires, his frailties and shortcomings.
I desired to present them in a different manner, so I commissioned a very able artist, one Alfred J. Bianchi, to illustrate them. He has done an excellent job in capturing my ideas in his drawings and bringing another dimension to these poems.
The poem, in memory of President Kennedy, was written the day after he was assassinated. It was a deep emotional experience for the whole country, and the prom was written as a ray of hope on one of our nation's darkest days.
The remaining poems were written during varying emotional moods and inspirational backgrounds. They all relay a definite message to the reader.
If these verses stir your imagination, warm you heart, give you pleasure or the smallest bit of compassion, then my reason for publishing them will be fulfilled.
