About the Book

SHACHELLA JAMES is an award winning technology professional with over a decade of management experience. Shachella’s interest in diversity comes from her experiences in corporate America as well as her personal travels. She based Sentarse Means Sit on her international experiences; but, her inspiration was her 3 year old daughter, Darias. In writing Sentarse Means Sit, Shachella wanted to emphasize for her daughter and other children two things: self appreciation and acceptance. Although written for children, the book’s concepts translate easily into a corporate environment and everyday life situations. Sentarse Means Sit is her first book. Mrs. James lives in Missouri City, Texas with her husband, Darrell, and their two children, Darias and Daschal.

About the Author

Shachella James is an accomplished and certified technology professional. She earned her undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas @ Austin. Her opinions on software development and project management have been published in online trade journals. Although her professional experience spans multiple industries and roles, her appreciation for diversity was actually realized during international programs and various travel experiences. Those travel experiences coupled with an inquisitive three year old daughter inspired and gave life to both Big Sister and Smokey.
