About the Author
R. Alan Anderson and his wise wife, Wendy, live in the woods in Southern OregonÕs beautiful Applegate Valley. They share their property with various tame, wild and imaginary animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, moles, raccoons, deer, foxes, possums, skunks, coyotes, snakes, frogs, lizards, woodpeckers, wild turkeys, insects, spiders, dwarf giraffes, enthusiastic sloth and somber hyenas. Although some conditions at the estate are primitive, such as having to use dial-up Internet, the comforts include indoor plumbing, hot water, and a crock-pot. In any event, except a natural disaster, of course, the tranquil beauty and serenity make it all worthwhile. In addition to writing such obscure books as LIGHT LOST, ADVERSE POSSESSION and EXPENDABLE NATIVES, the author dabbles in inventing devices as well as creating new words. Look no further for the brain behind the cold air balloon for fearful flyers; the inflatable port-a-pot for fastidious long-distance swimmers; Styrofoam toilet paper; and submersible bath candles for romantic evenings in the tub. The author is also the creator of such common household words as flamboisterous, oscillucinating, gyroplectic, regurgification and moodiocre.
