About the Book
Finding peace and happiness in our lives isn’t easy. Yet each time we make a change, we often make our lives that much more complex. What is the solution?
Your Life Teaches You to Live offers the answer. But beware! This is not a quick fix option, but instead, a fundamental and deep commitment to discovering who you really are. Doretta Lee reveals a clear, motivating message on how you can gain control over your life and at the same time, gain respect of others. She also includes invaluable worksheets to help you reach your goals.
Lee uses the five fingers of our hand to demonstrate her theory:
- The Thumb accentuates progressive thinking.
- The Index Finger emphasizes accepting who you are.
- The Middle Finger demonstrates enforcing your posture.
- The Ring Finger confirms your right to independence.
- The Pinky Finger empowers you to honor yourself and others.
About the Author
Doretta Lee enjoyed writing at a very young age. Her 7th grade Language Arts teacher noticed a gift in her and encouraged her to be a writer someday. Doretta never thought much of those words until her passion for writing emerged in her early 20’s. She began to write her feelings in the form of poetry and tucked them away in a pile of notes and thoughts she considered personal. By mid 30’s she felt a need to journal her painful life experiences up to that point as a way to start a healing process so desperately needed. After, completing her journal she believed she had stories of her experiences that could be used to help others. Finally, she began to make sense of some things she experienced realizing that she could have made better choices that would have led her around many of those painful experiences. This book is a summary of those lessons. She currently lives the greater Washington DC area in which she describes as her Eutopia.
