About the Book
Author James J. Adams presents In the Midst, an updated edition of his previously published poetry collection, Put the Guns Down (1996). Adams’s poetry aims at bringing attention to the violence—particularly gun-related violence—that affects our youth. About the Author
James J. Adams is a poet, writer, and public speaker. Originally from South Carolina, James now makes his home in central Texas. After completing high school in 1982, James dedicated the next fifteen years of his life to the U.S. Army. He retired from the army in 1998.
