About the Author
Janice has been married to her husband Roy for 24 years. Together they have four children and nine grandchildren. Janice graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Law Sciences from Davenport University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is retired and actively participates in community affairs as a coordinator and volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Inc., in Kinston, NC. Her hobbies include music and art. Currenly, she is involved in the music ministry at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Kinston, NC, where she plays the piano every Sunday morning at Mass. She also is the organist twice a month at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Kinston, NC. In addition, she is a member of the Jubilation Ringers, a handbell choir, at the FIrst Presbyterian Church, Kinston, NC. Janice was a freelance court reporter for more then 38 years before accepting a teaching position as Lenoir Community College, Kinston, NC, in 1999. From January 1999 until December 2007, she was Program Head and Instructor of the Court Reporting and Captioning Program at that institution. While employed for the community college, she authored an online course entitled, "The Complete Court Reporter" Court Procedures for Stenograph, Inc., in Elmhurst, Illinois. When she was in high school, she and her best friend, Ruby Reed, wrote the high school alma mater. This is Janice's first book publication.
