About the Book

This book is dedicated to the three generations of Buddha-in-mind (Xin Zhongxin), a Tantrism School of Buddhism. The Sixth Patriarch’s Platform Sutra is the only sutra by a master of Chinese background, the Chan School’s sixth patriarch, Hui Neng. Among many explanations to this sutra for over a thousand years in Chinese history, the notes by the second patriarch of Buddha-in-mind are one of the best to explain the profound in simple terms and serve as absolute guidelines for Chan practitioners. To supplement, the author’s commentary further explains the texts for practitioners to get an overall idea of the Chan School and historical events related to the platform sutra. It tells more in simple terms about the philosophies hidden in some ambiguous texts.

About the Author

The author was an editor, journalist, and news presenter with Guangzhou TV Station for over three years. He served another five years as economic engineer and official with AQSIQ. As Buddhist of Bodhisattva precept who has gained a master’s degree, the author has published ten books in Buddhism and has been given lectures to thousands since 2007. He was invited by Shaolin Temple and China Buddhism Online for the same purpose. He has lived in Australia since 2003.
