About the Book
This book recalls the most important historical events related to Chinese Buddhism in the past hundred years since the establishment of the Republic of China by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen in 1911. The footprints of the best-known Buddhist masters of this century are vivid descriptions of how Buddhism was revived in spite of political turmoil in the mainland. It tells how cultural development and the modern media have had a strong impact on the popularity of key Buddhist schools like the Pure Land Belief. There is also coverage on Buddhism in Taiwan and Tibet, which has played a more positive role in the spread of Buddhism in the Western world.
About the Author
The author was an editor, journalist, and news presenter with Guangzhou TV Station for over three years. He served another five years as economic engineer and official with AQSIQ. As Buddhist of Bodhisattva precept who has gained a master’s degree, the author has published ten books in Buddhism and has been given lectures to thousands since 2007. He was invited by Shaolin Temple and China Buddhism Online for the same purpose. He has lived in Australia since 2003.
