About the Author

John W. Paull has worked in the education service all his working life. He has served as a class teacher, headteacher and school inspector. He currently lives in Welwyn Garden City, which is a thirty minute train ride from London. The ideas for his Jimmy James stories come from the adventures of his own childhood cat, known as Old Jim. As might be expected of someone who has worked closely with children, the illustrations and ideas for pictures in his books have all been inspired by youngsters who wanted to be involved.
