About the Book

Author Albert Vicent enjoys sharing stories of the interesting, imagined, and imaginary. In Amazing Stories, he offers an eclectic collection of tales that entertain, inform, and engage. In The Mountain of Cone, Sophie, now seven years old, found an old coin with an odd inscription in the school sandbox when she was a kindergartner. She saved the coin in a bottle, and on a family fishing trip something strange occurs. The family needs to discover the connection between a coin, an elephant, and the Mountain of Cone. The selection Herbie the Hawk tells about a special hawk who has amazing abilities; he can speak a variety of languages and even has legs like a human. His unique attributes let him be helpful to many people. The Kite narrates a story about Joe and Alex, sixth graders with active imaginations who wonder if turtles can learn to fly kits. Including selections for all ages, Amazing Stories tickles the imagination with an array of narratives.

About the Author

Albert Vicent is originally from Michigan, but settled in Salinas, California, after military service. He worked with a school district and a child development center for many years. Vicent now enjoys writing short stories, poetry, and songs.
