A Way to Healing: The Seven Set Practice
FOREWORD
By Charles J. Shovlin (Author)
After practising my form of meditation i.e. The Seven Set Practice for a friend, she turned to me and said ‘It certainly does not take you long to get there and you certainly have your passport back’. This so called passport has opened doors for me that I would never have dreamed of in the past. One of those dreams was opening ‘The Castle’ Healing Centre. What I really opened was my dormant family trait of healing others in need. That now means I see hundreds of clients on a regular basis in the hope of bringing them some peace of mind and bringing them back to their full spiritual awareness. The other great door that this passport has opened for me is the confidence to write, to teach people and to give them a better understanding of healing. It has also helped me to bring them to awareness that they too have hidden abilities and they should not be afraid to bring them to the surface. So this book is the results of many years of studying some of the martial arts, old eastern philosophies, various types of meditations including taiji, qi-gong and working with the earth’s natural energies as a natural healer. Through these disciplines I somehow evolved to a higher level of thinking or inspiration or just perhaps my own imagination, call it what you like, but this has lead me on a journey to new discoveries which are talked about in the following pages. Before these words were put down on paper I had a premonition of lecturing to a group of people. In these lectures I was teaching them about total spiritual awareness and giving them The Seven Set Practice meditation, to help them to open their minds to the great spiritual powers of the universe. After the premonition was over, I started to practice when everything was fresh in my head. The more I practised the more I became aware of my spiritual guide and of my purpose here on this planet, which is healing and teaching others to heal by these lectures and practices. At first I thought that this book was about my taiji and qi-gong training but as time went on the book took on a different direction. Even though I got strong messages to write this book and even what to call it, I still thought how in under God could I write a book on a subject, which to me was so complicated? At the time of the messages I had only been working as a practising healer for a few years myself, writing about it seemed incomprehensible to me. However, after all that had happened in the first few months of discovering my healing talents i.e. opening what was to be known later as the CASTLE HEALING CENTRE I felt once again inspired. I am thankful to have been able to listen and most of all to be able to react to such a request from the very depth of my being. Many of us get inspired in many ways but sadly not many listen and further more, many do not act on it. But those who have that inner knowledge and do act on it, will not need me to tell them, that their life is full and rewarding. So A WAY TO HEALING was written by inspirational wisdom, to teach but not reform, to take away the myth of healing and to leave people with a clear open mind on the subject, so that they can draw their own conclusions. I hope you enjoy the read and good luck with the practice.
Realising Your Own Potential
My aim in this book is to teach people to become healers and to teach them to stay healthy themselves. They can then heal themselves, heal others and also teach others how to heal and so eventually we may heal the earth. However, this does not mean that after reading and studying these lectures in this book that everyone can expect to become healers. This does not mean that some people are better or worse than others as all people are equal and all gifts are special. Through the use of The Seven Set Practice in this book, you may improve your own creative and natural abilities by unleashing positive energies and gifts that lie dormant. You may identify and break certain negative patterns, which may be preventing you from realising your own potential. This may then lead to other ways of healing, which might be more suitable ie singing, art, poetry etc. I personally think that singing is a wonderful gift and I believe that some singers are natural healers. Comedians too, are wonderfully gifted people and bring a lot of healing into people’s lives, as laughter is the best medicine. We seem to have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves - what a pity? Working for the environment is another great gift, as these people are natural healers and sadly do not get the credit they deserve. What better way to teach people to heal than to look after this planet of ours? That’s the bottom line, that’s what we are looking for. The objective is to heal this planet of ours, so we can provide a better place for the children of the future. To put an end to all the confusion that is going on in our planet in the 21st century.
