Plaid, a kind little Scottie dog, learns about the importance of compassion, love, sharing and joy through adventures with his friends Duff and Dooney. The sweet, rhyming tales encourage children to use these virtues in their daily play to create warm, happy environments where they can thrive and have positive interactions with those around them. About the Author

About the Author Leslie Young created Plaid to give children a character who weaves together the valuable concepts of compassion, love, sharing and joy. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Leslie has degrees in English Writing and Secondary Education. She wrote the Plaid series to help children develop strong character, become less anxious and develop an understanding of the Golden Rule. Leslie lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two children and sweet little dog. About the Illustrator Patricia M. Field is an Artist from Portland, Oregon. She has had an extensive career in education that began in 1951. Originally from Boston, MA, she has taught in elementary school, high school and college classrooms from coast to coast. Her dedication to her students and her rich knowledge of English Literature are treasured by many. Today, she regularly shows her art in the Portland area and is commissioned for various projects that showcase her beautiful work.
