Again I place fleeting thoughts on paper. For no one's being supposed to know about your leap from
your ledge, the story seems to have made the rounds. Of course! Nothing new there.
Of course, I'm relieved you have returned to phys. ther sessions. I was so happy to notice you had
the use back of one of your hands.
The Meteor Shower was spectacular! Again, I'm grateful to you, not just for the telescope, but for
your passion to always learn something new! For your passion for life! And for bubbling with
enthusiasm for the rest of us to get on board with you.
My upper respiratory infection is nearly gone. I hope yours is, too. I didn't mean to expose you to
anything more.
I guess all us Andersons are going to Aspen in a couple of weeks. Who ever dreamed we'd do the things
we're doing? Hope to see you in CO.

At home following the board meeting and a grueling PT session, Mallory was exhausted. After a
light meal, she made her way to the library. After a few minutes of checking e-mails, she slid a
piece of stationery from the drawer:
Dearest David,
It seems like it’s been so long since I’ve seen you, and I’m not sure when I’ll see you again. I
hope your Pneumonia and concussion are better. I could tell you weren’t yourself at all at my
graduation party. Thank you for coming.
It was so terrifying for me when Erik said you had disappeared while you were trying to do your own
detective work in Boston. He sounded irritated with you, but at least you found who the FBI and
Ahmir’s people hadn’t found in over a year! I was terrified for you. The thought of anything
happening to you is unbearable to me. I’ve thanked God over and over for rescuing you.
